Using VideoStudio, at least for HD, I would starve.

CorelDraw is almost foolproof, does not crash very often and I make my daily living with it. I have been using CorelDraw since version 3 back in 1991 and VideoStudio since version 3 back in the same era. If anyone can relay a message to Corel to make VS a usable product using TODAY'S camera files, please encourage them to do so. With deadlines and so many projects I am working on, I can't rely on VideoStudio, as much as I'd love to.

VSPro X3 does a great job creating a professional looking end product, but the crashes are frustrating and very time consuming.
WHY DOES SONY MOVIE STUDIO PLATINUM 12 KEEP CRASHING PRO
I do have Sony Vegas Pro 9, but haven't taken the time to learn that program. I wish Corel could address the crashing issues and Canon's files. I did purchase a $70 program that will convert AVCHD files to M2T files (this is before I found Super), but it won't convert MOV files and I don't have the time to convert the hundreds of video files I have simply to be able to edit them. I can edit other files ok (M2T, MPEG2, WMV) but just not the AVCHD and MOV files.

The other is a HP Pavillion notebook with a Corei7 CPU, 500GB 7200RPM HD and 6GB ram with Windows 7. One is a Sony Vaio SZ330 notebook with a 2.0 Core2duo CPU, 4GB Ram, 250GB HD (5400 RPM) and Windows 7.

I've got VSPro X3 installed on 2 different computers. I've now come to click SAVE after nearly EVERY edit move.annoying and a waste of time. Then I'm able to edit.for a little while until it crashes when either previewing the video (which it doesn't handle well at all - it's not smooth by any means) or while simply moving the timeline. Once I am able to get the tracks in sync, I can then turn off the sound on two of the tracks. Shutting the sound off of two of the tracks helps, but I need to keep them all on to make sure the tracks are in sync and this is when it crashes the first time. I am editing 3 video tracks as the shows I am producing are using 3 camera angles. I'm using a Canon HF20 and HF200 recording in AVCHD 1920x1080P along with a Canon T2i recording in 1920x1080P MOV files. I've reinstalled the latest version of QT and iTunes so my iPad can sync with my computer again, because the crashes happen anyway. I've uninstalled the latest QT (and iTunes rendering my iPad useless) and installed the older version supposedly able to correct the QT issue, and it still crashes. I've tried projects of varying lengths as well from 15 sec to 30 min. It doesn't seem to matter what type of file you are rendering to and it's a crapshoot if it will get through a project. It randomly crashes when editing a project as well as when rendering a project. I am also having the same crashing issues with VSPro X3.
WHY DOES SONY MOVIE STUDIO PLATINUM 12 KEEP CRASHING MP4
Am not sure where this link is to Direct X.ĭetails of MP4 movie Type of movie.jpg (63.2 KiB) Viewed 8984 times I don't have any problems running the individual movie clips it's only when they become a project that they crash. I tried one of the library WMV files and it didn't crash. I tried converting to AVI, but same problem. Am attaching a capture of the detail of the MP4 file. The MOV type says "QuickTime Movie" and the MP4 type says "MPEG-4 Movie". I right clicked on the video files and both say "Opens with QuickTime Player". I have had different versions of Quicktime on the computer since I purchased the software, so doubt it is that. If you were to right click your video files and select Properties, you would then be able to give us some further details regarding your video files.Ĥ / Some strange problems not necessarily causing crashes have been cured by manually updating Direct X, there is a link at the top of this forum.ĥ / You seem to have had the problem for some time, so does it only crash when using certain types of video file or all types.Ħ / If you were to use the sample videos from the library, Maybe the libraries WMV types, do they cause problems.?

It’s a bit like me telling you I have a car without telling you the make.

there are many different types, a lot really, not surprising that some cause problems. I’m not saying it is your problem but maybe worth a read.Ģ / Mov files …. 1 / There is/was a problem with Quicktime and X3 associated with the latest QT version.
